FASHION FEATURES WRITER (Global/Remote)
What: You will be responsible for 1-2 "think pieces" every month that combine fashion with topics like politics, gender, feminism, race, identity, business, art, or history. Some examples of pieces that you might write for us could look like this or this.
Who: Anyone who loves to write and has a great command of what makes a good blog post. We're thinking of people who love to read i-D, Dazed, BoF, or Vestoj and are won't be needing lots of help with basics like grammar or structure. But most of all, we're looking for writers with opinions, a strong understanding of fashion, and great communication skills.
How: Send us a cover letter outlining why you want to write for us, what you are passionate about, and what you hope to gain from the experience. Include a resumé too and 3 story ideas that you could see meshing with our brand.
BEAUTY WRITER (Global/Remote)
What: You will be responsible for 1-2 short pieces every month that look at cool beauty trends, skin or haircare tips, interviews, or stories about makeup artists or the beauty industry.
Who: Anyone who loves to write and has an interest in the beauty community, or better yet, experience in makeup artistry or beauty retail. We're thinking of people who love to follow avant-garde makeup accounts or who dream about visiting the Glossier showroom. But most of all, we're looking for writers who get our philosophy, and have lots of beauty knowledge and strong communication skills.
How: Send us a cover letter outlining why you want to write for us, what you are passionate about, what you hope to gain from the experience, and what your personal view of beauty is. Include a resumé, 2 story ideas for Couturesque's beauty section, and a small moodboard of beauty-centric images that remind you of us.
FASHION + SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN (London, UK)
What: You will get your foot in the editorial door by helping our London team with photoshoots and events, organization, and generating ideas. On the social media side, you'll get a taste of how we engage our readers on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook and help us set and achieve goals as well as find cool new people to follow and feature. This position is low-commitment and will mostly require working from home, with a couple of IRL opportunities in Fall 2017.
Who: Anyone who wants to get experience in the fashion industry. This position is ideal for first year fashion students or those hoping to apply to study or work in fashion. No experience required, but you should have a lot of industry knowledge and be an avid reader of Couturesque or publications similar to ours. THIS POSITION IS LONDON, UK BASED.
How: Send us a cover letter outlining why you want to write for us, what you are passionate about, and what you hope to gain from the experience. Include a resumé too, 2 "interview" feature ideas, and a small moodboard of images that remind you of us.
Please note that all of the above positions are unpaid; Couturesque is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about the site as a hobby and creative outlet. We are happy to offer a sweet staff community and a professional platform for the world to see your work, however.
