During these steamy, sunny months I like to reduce my daily beauty routine to the absolute basics. This means mascara, a brow product, lipgloss, a highlighter, and a sweat-proof concealer. I have pretty good products on lock for all of those except the concealer, so this past week I made it my mission to find concealers that can stand up to the summer heat. In the end, these three concealers had what it takes to stay in place during the long sunny and sweaty summer days.

MILK MAKEUP Flex Concealer, $34 at Sephora

This product is definitely full coverage but surprisingly it wasn’t cakey or crease-y! Even as my face got oily throughout the day, it stayed in place nicely. It also claims to have a calming effect due to the chamomile and and blue lotus ingredients, but my skin is pretty calm to begin with so I didn’t notice any change. One drawback is that it’s pretty pricey for the amount of product you receive.

Maybelline Better Skin Concealer, $9.96

I have to say that this became my go-to concealer. It is very reasonably priced and the formula works really well with my combination skin. I found that it lasts all day, it’s full coverage, and it doesn’t irritate the sensitive skin under my eyes. Also, it claims to reduce dark spots and imperfections in 3 weeks, but I haven’t been using it for that long so I can’t verify if that’s true or not! Some drawbacks are that Maybelline isn’t cruelty free and this product contains some questionable ingredients such as titanium dioxide.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof 12-Hour Concealer, $29 at Sephora

Although this concealer is a top contender, it is undeniably in third place. It is waterproof, very long lasting, and has a nice matte finish, but it also isn’t very full coverage. I had to apply multiple layers to cover my dark under eyes and sun spots, and if I’m spending $30 on a concealer, I would want it to be more pigmented.
